let me try that again. that the spin, you have to say is simultaneously, stops right here. we are definitely look out for you >> we begin with president obama left off earlier today and that's celebrating the many failures of the first 100 days of his second term. it happened at the a hastily called impromptu news conference this morning. while the reporters in attendance eagerly awaited for the president to break some news, they were met with an incoherent, rambling commander in chief. in fact he found time to take only six reporter questions. now here's why. his first answer lasted more than five minutes. as he refused to state clearly whether or not sierra had crossed that so-call red line by using chemical weapons against their own people. answer two is five minutes on
9:01 pm
lecturing all of us on why the boston and benghazi attacks were not intelligence failures. and then he spent time trying to explain why his second term hasn't been a deplete and utter failure. that's a pretty tough sell. he didn't take well to being asked about some of those failures. here's what he said when he was asked about some of the failures. >> my question to you is do you still have the juice to get the rest of your agenda through congress? >> if you put it that way, johnathan, maybe i should just pack up and go home. golly. >> i can help you pack, mr. president. now all jokes aside, let's consider the state of the obama agenda. he made gun control the centerpiece of his second term. that was the emotional touchstone of his state of the union address back in february and yet not a single part of has asen jaw made it out of the
9:02 pm
democratic controlled senate. then there was an agenda to push against global warning. that agenda has exactly zero chance of becoming law. as for his budget. it was submitted two months late and it's dead on arrival. this is, after all, a president whose last two budgets garnered zero, zero votes from democrats in either the house or the senate. this will continue that trend of failure. it's not going to be taken seriously. let's not forget the disastrousry his sequestration strategy played out. he portrayed it as the coming of the apocalypse, and then it came and america yawned. let's say the healthcare proposal implementation does not sound all that promises. >> it's still a big undertaking. what we are doing is making sure that every single day we are constantly trying to hit our marks so that it will be in
9:03 pm
place. and the last point i'll make, even if we do everything perfectly, there will still be, you know, glitches and bumps and there will be stories that can be written that says, oh, look, this thing is not working the way it is supposed to, this happened and that happened, and that's pretty much true of every government program that's ever been set up. >> mr. president, it is to democratic senator max baukus, a train wreck. and the disastrous effects of obama character will be a huge negative factor for the democrats in the 2014 midterm elections. but getting back to the press conference, a he moved to finish his time at the podium, he closed with an 18 minute monologue marathon where we learned that he still believes that gitmo needs to be closed. not exactly a news flash given he vowed to do that on his first day in office.
9:04 pm
job well done, mr. president, mission accomplished. pat buchanan is with us, and joe trip by. as i check off all of these, patrick buchanan, i don't see a lot of success here or potential for success. your reaction? >> i was going to tick off about four out of those five that you did, and i would add immigration. i think after boston i think the president is going to get some border security. i think amnesty is dead when you are going to give that 12 million people. included in them are folks like the tsarnaevs. i don't think he will get that. unfortunately for our country iraq seems to be coming apart, the syrian war is disintegrating, and iran situation is not hopeful. the country has problems. this president is facing basically what he must see as a stacked deck. i don't see what he gets between now and november of 2014.
9:05 pm
brother trippi and i were talking about that in the greenroom. >> the gun legislation, didn't happen. and with the president we have zero chance of the global warming agenda? do you agree with that. >> no. i don't agree with you on the gun control. >> what happened then? >> no, he didn't get anything, but it wasn't just democrats. republicans were going to filibuster. >> whoa, whoa. democrats aren't supporting him, joe. >> three or four red state democrats. when you need 60 votes in the senate to get it done because of the filibusters, you need everything plus four or five republicans and that clearly want going to happen. >> bottom line, joe -- joe, he's not going to get gun control, is he? >> no. bottom line, pat is right. i think -- and i think that's what we are going to end up running between now and 2014 is nothing is going to get done.
9:06 pm
the parties didn't get together after the election. 2014 will be a fight about whether he didn't get anything done or whether the republicans -- >> hang on. hang on. his budget dead on arrival. three budgets in a row. he can't get one democrat to support. sequestration -- >> sean, he is not going to get ten cents in new taxes out of that republican house, which means just what you said is correct. his budget is dead. big budget deal is dead. the best they are going to get is could be he will some little thing together. >> no, sean, just to be clear, the only part i disagree with you about is somehow it's because he can't get enough democrats. he can't get enough of either party. >> i'll tell you why, joe. maybe it's because he's a demigod, and maybe if he stops saying like in the case of the sequester, maybe the demigod should is stop saying the world is going to come to an end.
9:07 pm
and maybe he ought to say republicans want dirty air and water and kill grandma and shoot them and throw them over the cliff. maybe it's not working. >> i think that water ran under the bridge a long, long time ago. >> let me ask you, did he not make a terrible mistake by issuing the red line and game changer if the syrians do this? and then to back off it? i don't think he has the authority to attack damascus. congress didn't authorize war babu why did he go out there and threaten war when he doesn't have the power? and he doesn't believe he wants to do it. >> i think he said today he wants to be sure, that they cross the red line before anything. >> every intelligence agency has confirmed and our government has confirmed. >> sean, we've actually -- yeah, i remember about weapons of mass destruction that we went into iraq and never found. >> joe, joe, he drew a red line and they crossed it and he's not going to do anything.
9:08 pm
>> you do not know that the syrian government used those weapons. >> according to our allies in western europe he did. >> according to them he had weapons of mass destruction in iraq, too. >> sean, let me halfway agree with brother trip by here. i don't think the air force ought to be make us allies of the muslim brotherhood and the front. >> here's the problem. a president that draws red line necessary the sand and has no intention of ever back them up, he puts us on a world stage looking tremendously weak, and that we don't look committed and he's not somebody our allies can trust and our enemies are going to fear. that's a problem. >> he's got egg all over his face on this issue. no doubt about it. he should never have done that. but i do think he's better off thinking it through now rather than plunge ahead and going with his ultimatum and starting dropping bombs in a war the american people don't want to fight. >> and the last thing is
9:09 pm
obamacare -- >> what he knows for sure i think he will do what he said. that's the difference here. >> whatever. hillary clinton said they had weapons of mass destruction, ted kennedy said it, all the democrats said it, as well, so everybody was wrong. >> i didn't say it, and everybody was wrong. >> all right, you were right for once. but healthcare is going to be the biggest problem. implementation of obamacare. >> it is a train wreck just ahead. i would say january 1. >> i would agree with patrick. patrick j buchanan in the crossfire tonight. good to see you death. >> good to see you. >> here to grade the first 100 days of the president's second term ahead. and why do we continue to allow radical extremists who hate the united states enter the united states and live off our hand outs? ann coulter is here in the studio and she will answer that very important national securit it's a brand new start. with centurylink visionary cloud infrastructure,
